Merry Christmas!

Thursday, December 26, 2013

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. We spent the day with our kids and grand kids and had a nice dinner at my husband's cousin's house. Unfortunately, my kids and grand kids were sick, and now grandma and grandpa are sick, too.

After getting a little behind in on the Celtic Solstice clue #4, I found a little time to get them done. With my 2 inch Accuquilt strip cutter, I was able to cut everything and get 120 4-patches sewn and pressed in a little under two hours!

I cut my strips from fat quarters, then cut each strip in half so I had 2 x 9 inch strips for a little variety. Here's my pile of 9 inch strips sewn together.

Then I paired them up and butted the seams together in preparation to run them through the Accuquilt.

Here they are on the 2 inch die cutter. I drew perpendicular lines on my die in order to help in alignment. The fabric is covering the lines so you can't see them.

The four-patches were cut in no time!

All lined up and ready to sew.

And just in time for clue #5!
